Event Details

On October third from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM we will be hosting our official Grand Opening open to the public. This event will be family friendly and will be attended by town leaders from Preston, Ledyard, and Groton. A special guest Amby Burfoot (winner of the 1968 Boston marathon) is leading a fun run on the trail and there will be a kids fun run at Preston Park. There will also be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:00 PM at the trail head and live music from 1:30 to 3:30 PM by “Majestic Fuzz.” Please RSVP above or on the Facebook event page as it will help us to gauge interest and to ensure we are prepared. Does it cost anything?

No, there is no fee. This is a free event! There will be a donation table available as well as t-shirts, water bottles, and hats that are free with a set donation.

Where do I park?

Park at Preston Community Park located at 13 CT-117 in Preston, CT. There is handicap accessible parking.

Who is invited?

Everyone is invited! All ages and abilities are welcome. There will be fun for all ages.

Do I have to stay the whole time?

No, come and go anytime. Keep in mind that some events are scheduled like the fun run with Boston Marathon winner Amby Burfoot at 1:00 pm and the ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:00 pm at the Tri Town Trail trail head parking lot (off Rt 117 across the road from the Preston Community Park). There will also be live music from 1:30 to 3:30 by " Majestic Fuzz."

What if it rains?

This event will happen rain or shine.
